Kyomizu-dera

Kiyomizu-dera (きよみずでら,清水寺) is one of the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Japan. There is a short walk up an incline where shops selling gifts and snacks line the street. Once you get to the top, there are two bright red temples that you can walk up to. Walking around these two temples are free, however to go to the back section there is a fee. I didn't go to the back part this time but if I remember correctly, you can explore inside another temple building, and there is a short little nature-like walk. "Kiyomizu-dera" translates to "pure water temple", and I think I read somewhere that there is a place for you to actually fill up your water bottle with water straight from the mountain (don't quote me on that though...check with someone who works there so you're not filling up your bottle with nasty ground water or something).

You can kinda see the moon in between the temples
