Arashiyama

Arashiyama (あらしやま, 嵐山) is another tourist location, but this time its not a temple! Arashiyama has several things to do, one of the main attractions being the bamboo forest, home to thousands of bamboo... stalks? trees? There's no entrance fee since its pretty much just a nice walk through the forest. The bamboo are so tall they tower over everyone, and when its windy the leaves blow around reminiscent of a super dramatic scene in an anime or Korean drama or something. If you get off at the Arashiyama train stop, you have to walk across a bride that takes you over the rushing stream below. There are also many merchant shops and restaurants between the stop and the bamboo grove, and even a monkey park! Arashiyama is a nice place to take a break from the loud noises of a big city and take a nice stroll. Since it is a popular tourist place, you're not going to get a picture without anyone else in it unless you get there super early in the morning.
